Mannu (Vivek Mushran) & Radha (Pooja Bhatt) are in love but Radha's father who is very rich, is against their marriage. They decide to run away to make some money of their own so that they can get married. Ashutosh (Jackie Shroff), lives separately from his father, Arjun Singh (Manohar Singh), because earlier, his father had separated him from Shivangi (Madhuri Dixit) the love of his life, by creating misunderstandings. Mannu and Radha are followed by Natwarlal (Prem Chopra) who shows them that he wants to help him.Natwarlal is actually Arjun Singh's arch rival, and he wants to cause him harm. He advises Mannu to kidnap Ashutosh and claim a good ransom so that he can become rich. Mannu & Radha go to kidnap Ashutosh. A series of child abduction and murders have left the police force perplexed who are unable to solve the case. Hence the case is handed over to CBI, who designate trainee Reet Oberoi (Preity Zinta) to solve the case. After some investigation the evidence points towards Lajja Shankar Pandey (Ashutosh Rana), a religious fanatic who believes in the sacrifice of children to gain immortality. Pandey's erratic behavior and Reet's traumas (as a child she witnesses her older brother, a terrorist, being gunned down by the police in their home) forces Reet to seek help from a prisoner, an unjustly implicated genius by the name Professor Aman Varma (Akshay Kumar).
At first he's rude towards Reet and refuses to help her, but with some help she manages to sway him into helping her. The case gets even more tough as she finds out that the Home Minister's only child has been kidnapped by Pandey. Reet cannot handle the pressure alone due to her traumatic childhood and her phobias, also she faces opposition from the local police partly because of Varma's methods. As they begin to spend more time together, he helps her overcome her fears and they both fall in love with each other.
They both eventually track down Pandey, who is about to begin the last sacrifice on the day of a solar eclipse (Soorya Grahan) which will finally help him attain the unattainable Immortality. Aman and Reet eventually save the child, killing Pandey in the process, but Aman is seriously hurt and is on the brink of death. Reet and Aman share a last kiss and he dies in her arms. Reet is given a hero's welcome and she finds a new sense of life in herself.Sachin

Ram and Balram are 2 young boys who live with their loving parents. Their scheming uncle, Jagatpal, however kills the boy's father and mother. Jagatpal lies to the boys that their parents have been killed in an accident and promises to raise them himself. He enrolls the younger brother Balram, in school and eventually sends him off to join the police force. The older becomes a mechanic. Jagatpal has a tight hold on the boys, even when Ram is an adult, he still gives all his wages to his uncle and is only allowed to keep a few rupees for pocket money. When Balram returns as a fully fledged police officer, Jagatpal finally reveals his plan. He is going to use Ram to target the biggest smugglers in India. Now that Balram is a police officer, he will protect his brother from getting arrested. Balram has reservations, but Jagatpal threatens to beat him just as he did when he was a boy. Balram is still unhappy with Jagatpal's plan so tells his superiors in the police force that his brother intends to infiltrate the smuggler's underworld so that Balram can arrest them. The plan goes well. Ram becomes one of the lieutenants of one of the biggest smugglers (Amjad Khan) and Balram's excellent arrest rate make him one of the force's most successful officers. Jagatpal becomes enormously wealthy from Ram's illicit gains. The brothers also find love. Balram with the daughter of a college professor (Rekha) and Ram with a girl who has moved to the area looking for her father (Zeenat Aman). Unbeknowst to Ram, the girl believes her father to be Jagatpal. She, along with her courtesan mother, attempt to extort money for Jagatpal but he refuses to believe he is the father. His suspicions are confirmed when he catches the mother paying off a former customer. The man is confronted by Jagatpal and confesses that the girl is not Jagatpal's daughter. Jagatpal's plan comes unstuck however when the boy's mother returns. She did not die after all. Ram recognizes his mother but Balram cannot as he was too young when they were separated. Both boys weep when they are reunited, Ram for the mother he has missed all those years and Balram for the opportunity he now has to get to know his mother. She reveals Jagatpal's actions to the two brothers and they unite to take him down.

The two lovers spend beautiful moments together in college and elsewhere, one day Raman spot Ayesha and Ajay together at a rose day party and is jealous and so he complaints to Mr. Varma thereafter Mr. Varma decides to tests Ajay and see if he is ready to become his future son-in-law. But Ajay proves to be hot headed and so he and Mr. Varma became sworn enemies and he asks Ajay to move away from his daughter's life but Ajay does not obey and continues to reach Ayesha, Varma contact a notorious underworld Don, named Bhai-Jaan and Ajay is told that after the 30 days of Ramadan, he is suppose to meet a violent death, and so Ajay is badly beaten up by his goons and is left virtually for dead on the outskirts of Bombay, but Ajay recovers and swear that he will marry Ayesha. Verma contacted the police and Ajay also receives another trashing from them but Ajay escapes and throws a challenge to Chopra and Verma that he will make Ayesha become his bride within 24 hours and will strive hard to fulfill his promise. Along with the help of the college principal and students Ajay and Ayesha is finally married after a big blast with the enemies.

Meet Jai Singh Rathore, a.k.a ‘Rats’, the mostnon-violent Rajput ever. Meet Aditi Mahant, aka‘Meow‘, a highly aggressive, impulsive girl. Sheabuses. She scratches (hence the name Meow).However, Jai and Aditi arecollege-going best buddies.
Jai and Aditi are perfect for each other. Their friends know this.Their parents know this. Everybody but the two themselves know this.
Aditi dreams of a virile, macho husband, while Jai wants a sweet,romantic girl. Since the two of them don't believe that they are inlove, they decide to hunt for a perfect life partner for each other.
Jai falls in love with Meghna at first sight in a club where twopsychos were misbehaving with her. He saves her, not by fighting but bytricking the two psychos, who always ride horses. Meghna always playsthe game of imagination, "What’s this?”When Meghna and Jai get close to each other, Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs andShaleen are happy for Jai but nobody notices that Aditi was missingJai’s company. Aditi notices changes in Jai’sbehaviour.
Meghna informs Jai that her parents squabble together but cannot staywithout each other. She says this is really "cute." Jai visitsMeghna’s parents. Her father is an alcoholic. Her parentsalways argue with each other and Jai feels uncomfortable with them.
When Jai goes to meet Meghna's parents, he misses Aditi's surprisebirthday party. She is hurt by this and acts rudely to Jai when he goesto wish her later that evening.
Aditi gets engaged to her father’s friend’s son,Sushant. Sushant is a spoilt playboy. At Jiggy’s birthdaybash, Aditi introduces her fiancé. Then everyone decides todance. Aditi is disturbed because she is jealous seeing Jai withMeghna, and Jai is upset that Aditi is engaged and disturbed. Aditibecomes emotional seeing Jai. In the middle of the dance, Sushantthinks Aditi is crying because she likes him and kisses her. Jai seesthis and stops dancing abruptly. While taking Meghana home, she triesto cheer him up, but it just results him in becoming more angry. Heshouts at Meghana for acting childishly.
Jai realizes that Meghna is a girl who runs from the reality and hidesin rather stupid refuges. Meghna breaks down, and lets Jai know how shebecame this way, and why. Meghna shares her dark childhood story of herfather having an extra-marital affair and her mother leaving theresidence, but later only returning for Meghna's sake. Meghna is hurtwhen she sees her parents in pain solely on her account. But sincethere's no other way round, she decides to close her eyes and seethings the way she wants, in a happy manner. Therefore, according toher, her parents fight in a very 'cute' manner. All is happy in the wayshe sees things, and does not want anyone to remove this veil beforeher eyes until she is ready for it. The next day, to cheer up things,she kids Jai by saying that Aditi is the right girl for him and heshould marry her instead. Jai is taken aback when Meghna laughs andapologises, saying that she was only joking, and did not intend toshock Jai. But Jai reveals that there is more truth to the joke thanMeghna thinks, and says that he is actually in love with Aditi. Meghnais shattered and leaves with a goodbye kiss. Aditi reveals her feelingsfor Jai under duress from Sushant, who slaps her on her face, leaving abruise. Aditi decides to go to America to study film at New YorkUniversity. Jai spots the bruise on Aditi’s face and thrashesSushant for daring to lay a hand on her.
Jai gets arrested for thrashing Sushant and is put behind bars. There,he encounters the two psychos, Bhaloo and Bhageere, who were harassingMeghna in the club. However, they find out that they are closelyrelated cousins, separated in childhood. They tell him that to become aman in their Rathore clan, he must complete three conditions: 1.)Thrash someone 2.) Get arrested 3.) Ride a horse. They tell him thathis father was a brave man and fought heroically but died while doingso. Jai realizes that his mother lied to him by claiming that hisfather was a non-violent person. Unaware of all this, Aditi makes herway to the international airport. Jai rides a horse, borrowed from hiscousin, and heads towards the airport to chase her.
He crosses the security and seeks for Aditi. He finds her and sings asong for her - "Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Nata Koi" - which is the samesong that Jai had said in the beginning he'd sing for the love of hislife. Aditi, delighted, hugs him.
Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs and Shaleen conclude the story and welcome Jai andAditi, just returning from their honeymoon, at the airport. Malaintroduces herself to them as Jiggy’s girlfriend.
