Love Khichdi

Lifted from a copy of popular American TV series Kitchen Confidential, Love Khichdi is about a casanova chef Vir (Randeep) Hooda chef who is on a bed hopping spree and is busy fantasizing about the many women in his life. Whether it is male hating kaamwali bai (Sonali) or his bookstore running ‘intellectual’ colleague (Rituparna) or his adolescent neighbour, it doesn’t matter for Vir. When a man-eater girl Nafisa (Kalpana) uses and ditches him, he feels the hurt. His pretty receptionist colleague Sandhya (Sada) who is in love with him and is trying to woo him finally proposes to him but the incorrigible flirt that Vir is, hesitates. Hurt, Sandhya walks out on him. Finally, then he realizes the true worth of his friendship with her. Relenting upon his behaviour he now goes to woo back Sandhya.
The film could have been a time pass no holds barred sex comedy but fails. Randeep is no hot stud that every single women he encounters would go panting for him. Secondly, lack of imagination on the part of writers and the treatment style of director makes it a big YAWN!! Sitting through the second half is a pain as it takes a helluva a lot of time to come to the point which surprise surprise we already know that true love is always around us and we never know its worth…blah blah blah. To be fair, Pritam has given some peppy tunes.
As far as acting goes, Randeep does try and carries off a few scenes well. Amongst the actresses only Sonali Kulkarni and Divya Dutta impress. Sada looks extremely pretty but needs to improve her dialogue delivery. Riya Sen does what she knows best – exposing. Saurabh Shukla is just about okay.
Forget this film and watch a cookery show with a pretty host/hostess instead

Neninthe

Aspiring to glint atleast once on the silver screen, a slew of youngsters arrive at KrishnaNagar and FilmNagar in Hyderabad, with a myriad dreams in their eyes. The aspirants are seen making rounds to the offices of producers and directors; also to the studios, to try their luck everyday.

The director depicts the flip and flop sides of these aspirants, makers, media, fans and even the viewers. In short 'Neninthe', is all about the film industry in a satirical way.

Ravi Teja as hero Siya debuting as heroine, Puri Jagannath directed 'Neninthe', which has been produced by DVV Danayya on Universal Media banner. The movie is released on 18th this month. Here, we present a concise review on the film.

Story

Ravi Kumar (Ravi Teja) completes his MBA and gets ready to realize his long cherished dream of becoming a movie director. His mother Rajyalakshmi (Rama Prabha) supports his ambition and encourages him all the way. Ravi joins as an assistant director with Idly Viswanadh (Brahmanandam), while Narayana (MS Narayana) is his co-director. Mallik (Subbaraju) is the star hero, and Sai (Sairam Shankar) is his ardent fan. Shayaji Shinde plays the producer.

Idly Viswanadh (apparently aping Puri Jagannath) begins to direct a film starring Mallik. Sandhya (Siya) is one of the group dancers, who aspire to become a star actress. Ravi meets Sandhya on the sets of the film, and gradually their acquaintance develops in to love.

Chintakayala Ravi

Seshamamba (Lakshmi) is in belief that his son Chintakayala Ravi (Venkatesh) is working as software engineer in USA and she boasts it in her village but actually Ravi is works in a local bar there. His mother arranges a match for him with a rich village belle Lavanya (Mamata Mohandas) who okays the alliance as Ravi is software engineer. Meanwhile, Lavanya asks her New York buddy Sunita (Anushka) to find out the conduct of Chintakayala Ravi. Sunita and Ravi accidentally meet once and she gets bad impression on him for his mischievous acts. She also finds that he is actually bartender and informs her friend that causes rift between Ravi and Lavanya�s families. The rest of the movie is triangle drama between Ravi, Lavanya and Sunita.

Analysis

Like all recent Venkatesh�s films, Chintakayala Ravi has high on entertainment but low on content. Story of the flick is kitchidi of various Hindi movies (mostly Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon and Hum Tum) but the backdrop of USA, Venkatesh�s performance, and comedy makes the film watchable. Adding mother sentiment to the predictable storyline made the movie more interesting, otherwise, it could have been very dull. Kona Venkat�s dialogues also are major asset. Other than that the movie treads on predictable pattern. First half of the movie is smooth and interesting but post the interval the narration is too slow and lengthy too. On the whole, the movie is just an okay.

Synopsis :

Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne (2003)

Pantaloon Rave's CHURA LIYAA HAI TUMNE, directed by Sangeeth Sivan, is a thriller with several engrossing moments. But what could've been an ideal popcorn flick, falls prey to mediocrity thanks to its hackneyed screenplay.

Vijay [Zayed Khan] meets Tina [Esha Deol] in Goa, where a romance develops between the two. One morning, Tina is summoned to Bangkok, Thailand, where she is told that her uncle has been killed in an accident. Vijay follows her there and offers to help.

Tina is called to the Indian embassy in Bangkok and warned by Deepak Chopra [Salil Ankola], the official there, that her late uncle was wanted in India for a Rs. 10 crore heist. The rest of his gang is also in Bangkok to get the money.

Khamosh Pani - Silent Waters

Ayesha is a seemingly well-adjusted middle-aged woman whose life centres around her son Saleem -a gentle, dreamy 18-year-old, in love with Zubeida. They live in the village of Charkhi in Punjab, Pakistan. Ayesha's husband is dead and she manages a living from his pension and by giving Qur'an lessons to young girls. The story begins in 1979, in a Pakistan under President General Zia-ul-Haq's martial law. Zia-ul-Haq manipulated the interpretation of Islam and misguided a whole generation of uneducated young people. These radicalized young people were needed at that time to fight the Soviets, who had occupied neighbouring Afghanistan [2]

Saleem becomes intensely involved with a group of Islamic fundamentalists and leaves Zubeida. Ayesha is saddened to see her son change radically.
Events escalate when Sikh pilgrims from India arrive in the village. Later, a pilgrim looks for his sister Veero who was left behind in 1947 during the Partition of India. This awakens heart-rending memories.

Raja Kumar Bahadur alias Gyan Shankar Rai (Raaj Kumar) has been a total abstainer all his life, never touching a drop of alcohol, and keeping away from women and all known vices all his life. Then one day he sees a young woman named Saudamani (Hema Malini), and instantly falls in love with her. He finds out about her background, and virtually buys her, and brings her to his palatial home. This is when he takes to drinking, and wooing her, and renaming her Madhuri, but refrains from marrying her.
Years later, he sees another beautiful woman, about half his age, named Sumita (Raakhee), meets with her parents, pays off their debts, and marries her in the bargain. He brings Sumita home, but makes it clear that Madhuri's word is law here. Then Kumar finds out that Sumita had a childhood sweetheart in Shekhar (Vinod Mehra), who has now returned from abroad. Kumar meets with Shekhar and finds out that both still have feelings for each other. An insecure and jealous Kumar now schemes a plot against them on the historical grounds of Fatehpur Sikri It is here Kumar's plot unfolds to entrap the young lovers, thus giving the title "Lal Patthar".

He gave ths file to Police Commissioner Prithvi Singh for further investigation. In this file all the dark deeds were written with proof gathered by Yashpal. Will Arjun succeed in his mission? The film was loosely based on the Ramayana. Venkat (Prabhas) and Sailaja (Trisha Krishnan) are youngsters who first meet on a train during a rain shower. Venkat keeps bumping into Sailaja coincidentally every time it rains. This makes them both feel that it is perhaps the rain that keeps bringing them together, and they start to fall in love. Venkat is mesmerized by Sailaja's beauty, charisma, and child-like behavior. Sailaja, also, is impressed by Venkat. Due to unfortunate circumstances the two are drawn apart. At the same time that the two meet, Sailaja catches the eye of antagonist Bhadranna (Gopichand) who also becomes infatuated with Sailaja. Venkat and Sailaja meet in Warangal again and believe that they are meant for each other because it rains every time they meet. Ranga Rao (Prakash Raj), Shailaja's dad, is a typical black sheep with all kinds of bad habits. In the process, he is ready to marry off his daughter to Bhadranna for money. Ranga Rao plants certain ego problems in the minds of Venkat and Sailaja in order to break them up. This causes Venkat to leave Warangal for Vizag. And Sailaja prepares to become an actress (her father convinces her). Later on, Bhadranna kidnaps Sailaja. The rest of the story is about how Venkat rescues Sailaja from the bastion of Bhadranna and how he clears up the misunderstanding with Sailaja in the process.

Benny and Babloo

Smitten by the glamor of Mumbai, two friends, Benny (Kay Kay Menon) and Babloo (Rajpal Yadav) land up in distinctly different jobs - Benny as the bellboy of a five-star hotel and Babloo as a waiter in a ladies service bar.
Benny believe his job is better than Babloo's and makes fun of him on many occasions. Benny's pride fades away as they both realize that even though their job may look different on the outside, they're quite similar on the inside.
