Ilaaka
One small controversy happened after the release of
this film. Two of this movie's songs have been censored/banned from the
Government-run All India Radio and Doordarshan ("Aaj peene ki tamana hai, main
piyuga behisaab, kal ki kal soochoga, jab hoga gunaoh ka hisaab.... " sung by
Mithun. This movie made history when cuss words were used in a song sung by
Kishore Kumar "Khali botal ki tarah, aadmi hai khali, apni bhi kya koi zindagi
hai saali...saali..."
Although about the film; Ilaaka
- has a small little world of its own. A world of dreams and desires love and
longings, hatred and hardships.
This is Raja (Mithun)
who stands at the cross roads of truth and traditions.
In this small world we have Suraj (Sanjay Dutt) and
Neha (Amrita Singh), the two brave Police Officers against the might of evil.
And we have the evil incarnated too! Nagar (Amrish
Puri) as vicious as a viper and as blood thirsty as a wolf.
Here we have good old Masterji (A.K.Hangal) who is
ready to sacrifice himself for his tiny world.
And we
have cunning Swami also, who is ready to destroy
everything.
Ilaaka has love and laughter, blood and
tears. It is as delicate as a petal and as hard as steel.
Ilaaka; a
painting which has all the seven colors of rainbow.
